Collections, a three-day sale split into two volumes, features English and European furniture, silver, vertu, ceramics, tapestries, rugs and other decorative arts predominantly from public and private collections. This fall, both sales will be on exhibition from 12 October to 18 October in New York. Displayed against the latest paint and wallpaper from Farrow & Ball, the exhibition will provide inspiration for how to live with antiques in a contemporary setting. Collections: European Decorative Arts will be sold on 18 October and features an exquisite and historically-important set of four Empire stools from the Palais des Tuileries, a George I giltwood and lacquer pier table previously owned by Queen Mary, consort to George V, and a delicately-inlaid Venetian micromosaic mirror attributed to Antonio Salviati & Co. Collections: Silver, Vertu, Ceramics and Russian Works of Art will be sold on 19 and 20 October and will feature an important Spanish Colonial tureen, cover, and stand by Miguel Guerra, and a diamond presentation snuffbox with the cypher of Queen Victoria, and a rare Vincennes bleu-céléste large bowl dating to circa 1750-53, along with a K.P.M. topographical part tea service and a pair of Meissen figures of nodding pagodas.
