ASPEN – One of the most anticipated events of the Aspen summer season, Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s Recognition Dinner was extra special this year. Held on 21 July at Aspen’s Hotel Jerome, the event marked Anderson Ranch's 50th Anniversary of the artist-founded centre, which offers residencies, workshops and other programming on five picturesque acres. The gala and lively benefit auction drew more than 200 supporters, including Noah Horowitz, Nancy and Bob Magoon, Mercedes Bass and Debra and Dennis Scholl. The multitalented Carrie Mae Weems received the centre’s National Artist Award, and the recipients of this year’s Service to the Arts Award were devoted art patrons Eleanore De Sole and Domenico De Sole, chairman of the board at Sotheby’s. The annual service award is given to supporters of artists and cultural institutions whose far-reaching contributions benefit American cultural and social life, representing the highest level of leadership, integrity and vision.
