QATAR - Entries are now being accepted for Curate, a global competition organized by Qatar Museums Authority and Fondazione Prada. Open online until 31 December the aim is to offer the winner the unprecedented opportunity to curate the exhibition of their dreams.

The jury is a roll call of the art world’s great and good – Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Chairperson, Qatar Museums Authority; Miuccia Prada, President, Fondazione Prada; Rem Koolhaas, architect, urban theorist, OMA AMO founder; Nadine Labaki, Lebanese filmmaker and actress; Nawal El Moutawakel, Vice President of International Olympic Committee and the first woman from a Muslim majority country to win an Olympic gold medal; and Hans Ulrich Obrist, co-director, Serpentine Gallery, London. This panel will make their decision based on creativity and social significance, and the competition is open not only to aspiring or established curators, but also anyone with a great concept for creative expression.

Proposals can be uploaded to the Curate website, which will also showcase the 20 finalists prior to the winner being announced in spring 2014. The format for submissions should be a self-made video no longer than two minutes in length, with a one-page accompanying text explaining the idea. Full details can be found on the Curate website.
