The Gunter Sachs Collection on view at the New Bond Street galleries at Sotheby's London.

LONDON - This morning we welcomed both press and public to the galleries in New Bond Street to see the Gunter Sachs Collection installed prior to the auction next week. Over the last few exhilarating and exhausting weeks, we have taken the collection from Paris to Zurich, then on to New York, and it's been fascinating to see the level of interest in the collection, with the reactions of visitors in all of these locations uniformly enthusiastic. (Read my blog posts about travelling with the Gunter Sachs Collection here).

Setting up for the exhibition of the Gunter Sachs Collection, on sale 22 May at Sotheby's London.

So now we are back in London and gearing up for the sale itself. Gunter Sachs has truly taken over New Bond Street – from the video screens in the front windows showing mesmerising clips from Gunter’s life and highlights from his collection, to the black and red PVC room with Allen Jones, Lichtenstein and Warhol, inspired by his St Moritz apartment. The galleries have been utterly transformed and it is fantastic to see all the works finally reunited and hanging together.
