NEW YORK - The evening of March 4, an art world who’s who flocked to the Whitney Museum of American Art for the VIP preview of the 2014 Whitney Biennial. The exclusive event was hosted by Sotheby’s Chairman William F. Ruprecht, who welcomed such guests as collector and publishing magnate Peter Brant, cultural patrons Howard and Cindy Rachofsky and newly named director of LA MOCA Philippe Vergne. After taking in the work of more than 100 artists that packed three floors of the museum, guests gathered at Café Boulud for a dinner honoring top Sotheby’s clients.
