Sotheby’s has a long tradition of selling Scottish art, pioneering sales in Scotland in the early 1970s. We have continually achieved ground-breaking results for the four Scottish Colourists, including world records for Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell and George Leslie Hunter and in November 2012 we also achieved a world record price for a Glasgow Boy painting with James Guthrie’s In the Orchard which sold for £601,000. In addition, we have achieved world record prices for many of Scotland’s top artists, including George Henry, Anne Redpath, Robin Philipson, John Bellany and Jack Vettriano, Peter Howson and Joan Eardley.
Our offices are located in London and Edinburgh and our sale of Scottish Art takes place in London in November. Our sales are supported by a travelling exhibition at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh before the exhibition and auction in London.
