The canvas has been relined and has a thick, heavy varnish which has yellowed. The work appears flat, likely due to the combination of the relining and the heavy varnish, and could be cleaned. There is a large craqueleure pattern throughout, though it is mostly evident in the background. The varnish is very milky under ultraviolet light, though some old restorations along the jawline and hairline above her ear flouresce. Offered in a carved giltwood frame.
