In overall fine condition. Wear and discoloration commensurate with age and use. The pilar supports retain a dark, historic surface. The top has been refinished and shows water spots consistent with use. That the table had an original length of 20 feet. The table was reduced in length by removing two of the inner pilaster supports and moving the outer supports inward. These outer pilaster supports are secured to the central horizontal support by hand-wrought bolts, with their nuts secured in a mortis. The central leg is reinforced with hand-wrought Z-brackets and bolt. It is plausible that the Shakers could have adjusted this table's length at some point later in the 19th century. Holes and shadow marks on the underside of the table indicate the tables adjustment in length.
