Condition

Examined in the frame. Original unlined condition. The surface presents well. There is isolated craquelure in the sky, particularly in the thickest impasto area around the moon, and in the reflection at lower center; faint stretcher bar marks visible at center and upper right; and minor frame abrasion in the corners. Under UV: heavy varnish fluoresces green. Two possible old dots of retouching in the sky are visible in the extreme upper left.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
