the gold lacquer box in kirikane and gold dust, naturalistically rendered as a long gourd and vine with a locust perched on top, the interior in gold nashiji, signed Shojusai tsukasa Juzan saku. 2 pieces.

Condition

The katydid has been off and re-stuck. Otherwise the box and cover are in good condition with only minor expected wear to the surface (for instance, at the rims and the leaf), and a very fine age crack to the interior of the cover. The box and cover are painted in red with the Rockefeller inventory numbers 11-300A and 11-300B, respectively.
