拍品資料及來源

This was Jevons' first publication on logic in which he attempted to provide an alternative approach to Boole's system. However interest in the work was very limited: published in December 1863, by August 1864 it had sold only four copies. This copy, was owned by a member of the Poynting family in Manchester, which had a close association with Owens College, where Jevons was at the time of publication.
