拍品資料及來源

This very rare French broadside by Boisseau, map publisher and enlumineur du roi pour les cartes géographiques, was intended for use as a ready reckoner. It is an example of a device known as a rotula, a circular, non-logarithmic calculating aid. An identical device appeared in Germany in 1651 in a work by Schwenter and Harsdörffer and again in 1727 in the great ten-volume German technical encyclopaedia of Leupold.
