A HANDSOME SET FROM THE LIBRARY OF THE EARLS OF MACCLESFIELD. Henrion had issued a work entitled Mémoires mathématiques recueillis, et dressés en faveur de la noblesse Françoise at Paris in 1613; this "seconde édition, reveue, corrigée & augmentée” was published in two volumes, the first appearing in 1623 and the second in 1627. A Traicté des logarithmes and Logocanon, ou regle proportionelle contained in the second volume have their own title-pages, dated 1626; these were separately issued, although retaining the continuous pagination of the original work.

The Traicté des logarithmes is the second work on logarithms published in France, and the first to be written by a Frenchman.
