The English Short-title Catalogue describes this work as being by Johann Jacob Hainlin, translated by Mandey, though Tomash & Williams catalogue it as a work by the latter, stating "Mandey was a London teacher of mathematics... This is not an original work but rather a compilation of translations of the work of others - perhaps from Mandey's own book collection. The majority are based on the work of Johann Jacob Heinlin [sic], but Mandey also mentions [other authors]." There were editions published in 1709 (ESTC T114015) and 1729 (ESTC T126489). This copy has elements of both, with the imprint matching the 1709 edition, but with the date changed to 1729 in ink, and lacking an additional title usually to be found in the earlier edition.
