FIRST EDITION. García de Céspedes, cosmographer to Philip III, wrote several works (see the list on [paraph]2), of which only two were printed, the present work and a treatise on navigation. This work covers military surveying and ballistics, as well as the location and transportation of drinking water. The headpiece at the start of the text contains native American motifs. Juan de la Cuesta was the printer of the first edition of Don Quixote.
