拍品資料及來源

A new edition of Galileo’s first book, a manual on the use of his "geometric and military compass" (Padua 1606), here accompanied for the first time by an anonymous Italian translation of the extensive commentary on that instrument written by Matthias Bernegger. This commentary had been published in Latin at Strassburg in 1612 and 1635 (see lots 199-200).
