the compressed globular body rising from a short slightly spreading foot to a short flared neck, deeply carved to the exterior with overlapping peony petals, the detailed veining delineated by skilfully incised lines, covered in an olive green glaze, pooling to a darker tone at the recessed areas

This jar is in good condition, but there is some areas of kiln grit adhered to the body to the lower section of the exterior.

本品器型端莊，紋飾優雅，乃陝西銅川黃堡鎮耀州窰址最早出品青釉器之例，相近作例斷代五代及北宋早期。本罐保存完好，釉色均勻、刻花線條大氣剛勁，紋飾佈局精良。 比較兩例，出土自陝西銅川市附近窰州窰址，其一1959年出土自黃堡鎮，現存於西安陝西考古學院，曾展於《耀州瓷精品》，大阪市立東洋陶瓷美術館，1997年，編號24，其二出土自四號中學區，同時並有其他青釉殘片出土，紋飾或甚相近，圖見《宋代耀州窯址》，北京， 1998年，圖版137，圖1-3。此外亦可參考一罐例，罐頸下方圍飾瓣紋，出自Calmann收藏，現存於巴黎Musée Guimet，載於Basil Gray，《Sung Porcelain & Stoneware》，倫敦，1984年，圖版27。
