Condition
DIAL: in good condition, no scratches or damage on the sapphire layers CASE: with scuffs and scratches throughout, consistent with age and wear of the timepiece, with more visible scratches on top of the lugs and one scratch on the crown MOVEMENT: running at time of cataloguing, date passes on to the next day, seconds hack when crown pulled out The watch has not been tested to determine the accuracy of its timekeeping. The Richard Mille RM028 is the second nautical watch created by the famed company, after the RM025 which is slightly larger with a diameter of 50 mm. The RM028 isn't only an extremely charismatic piece, it is also a proper tool watch and no compromise on the technical aspects was made during its creation.
Whilst it has a generous diameter of 47 mm, the comfort on the wrist is optimised thanks to its curved back. The tripartite case is water resistant up to 300 meters following ISO 6425 diver's watch specifications. No less than eight silicon braces protect the inside of the case and the movement.
The uni-directional bezel is made of three layers and is screwed to the case to guarantee a perfect adjustment and safety. It is unlocked by pressing the two pushers at 12 and 6 o'clock. The rubber strap is screwed to the case to ensure maximum security, even in extreme conditions.
Despite being a skeletonised watch, the legibility of the piece is ensured by the large luminescent hands, exclamation point and Arabic numerals.
The proven Calibre RMAS7 is one of the signature movements of Richard Mille. Thanks to its adjustable rotor geometry, it is perfectly adapted to intense activity.
The RM028 has been an immediate success since its introduction and it is not a surprise that some limited editions were released. The Saint Tropez edition is probably the most exclusive one with only 10 pieces made, the present lot being the last one, No. 10/10. It is instantly recognisable with its white rubber strap and blue indexes to the first quarter of the bezel, evoking the colours of both the yachting world and the famous French Riviera destination.
