Condition

Overall measurements: Approximately 347cm across the top, 355ccm across the bottom, 592cm along the left side, 571cm along the right side. Pile 3mm - fair to low. Colours not as dark and more attractive in reality. Missing half end guard at lower end, and therefore now irregular edge (not straight across). Fringe cut and overlocked at top end. Loose sections and minor losses to banded coloured side cords. Overall small areas of repiling and restoration. Now in restored ready to use condition. Attractive drawing and design. Good size.

Two examples with similar design to the present carpet have appeared in auction recently. One formerly in the collection of Irvin & Anita Schorsch, Sotheby's New York, 20-22 January 2016, lot 249. the other formerly in the private collection of respected, almost legendary, dealer Berdj M. Abadjian. The Abadjian example also of similar scale to the offered lot, however the present lot with a deeper colour palette.
