Comprising: a necklace designed as a line of graduated brilliant-cut diamonds, supporting a fringe similarly set with alternating with cabochon rubies, length approximately 380mm; and a pair of ear clips similarly set, pendants detachable, signed M. Gérard, numbered, French assay marks for 18 carat gold and maker's marks, total gross weight approximately 114.00 grams, fitted case stamped M. Gérard.
Condition
Accompanied by LFG reports no. 339452 and 339453, stating that the five tested rubies are of Burmese origin, with no indications of heating. Tongue and each clip fitting signed M Gérard, stamped with 750 and French assay marks for 18 carat gold, maker's mark for Andre Vassort, and necklace numbered 1641, earclips numbered 1644 OR. Rubies well matched for colour, mid-red with medium saturation, translucent; with typical inclusions and abrasions visible to the naked eye, some surface reaching. Diamonds bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 23.00-26.00 carats, estimated colour H-I, estimated clarity VS, as graded within the limitations of the mount. Clasp and clip fittings secure, scratches to metal consistent with wear, overall in good condition. Fitted case stamped M. Gérard, JOAILLIERS, R.AVE MONTAIGNE, PARIS
