the well-proportioned ewer potted with a sturdy ovoid body rising from a spreading foot to a tall neck and flaring rim, modelled with a gently curved spout on one side and a strap handle on the other extending from neck to the shoulder, applied with an egg-white slip beneath a clear glaze stopping short of the foot showcasing the pale greyish-buff body

Condition

The ewer is in relatively good condition with the handle and spout in tact. There are two Y-shaped cracks extending 17 cm down to the shoulder. (Additional photos available upon request.) There is a 0.5 cm shallow chip to the unglazed foot. Other general firing imperfections, bruises and surface wear.
