郎靜山與張善孖、張大千昆仲感情極深，乃中國現代藝術史上的一段佳話。郎靜山於民初住上海東有恒路德裕里時，毗鄰書法家曾熙，故與曾氏弟子張善孖、張大千兄弟相熟。郎靜山最早上黃山，即與張氏昆仲同往，其集錦照相多以黃山風景為素材，可溯源於此。攝影家莊靈分析，本作取景黃山，雖然雲山繚繞，但畫面兩座主峰應為實景，而左上方在雲霧中露出的山峰，則有可能是實景，亦有可能是集錦。1940年，善孖駕鶴西去，大千更稱郎氏為「三哥」，彼此同渡台灣、同遊法國以至巴西，可見情誼之深。此作由郎氏攝影，大千題款，主題則是郎氏與張氏昆仲結緣之黃山，彌足珍貴。
