finely potted, with wide flared sides rising from a short straight foot, brilliantly enameled to the exterior with two five-clawed dragons, one in yellow and the other in green, each in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', leaping out from a band of turbulent crested waves, and amidst multi-colored cloud scrolls and flame scrolls, the base with an archaistic six-character seal mark in underglaze blue

雍正皇帝對紋飾精細、器形新穎之菁華雅器極為熱衷，本盌畫工精良，繪五爪祥龍栩栩如生，實乃其中佳例。此類盌以紋飾畫意盎然深受推崇，斗笠式器形與盌蓋吻合，創於雍正年間，多憑年款斷代雍正初期。本品之仿古年款，尤為罕見，故更為稀珍。
林業強研究雍正年款，認為「 清」字「月」內一豎一橫（淸）之年款，見於康熙晚期，故同具此特點之雍正年款，應屬雍正早期製作（見林業強，<清代雍乾兩朝御窰瓷器四題>，《機暇清賞：懷海堂藏清代御瓷器》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，2007年，頁53。
同類盌而帶楷書款者，可見世界各大博物館及私人收藏。比較一帶蓋例，北京故宮博物院收藏，圖見《故宮珍藏康雍乾瓷器圖錄》，香港，1989年，頁201，圖版30。另有一對例，現存南京博物院，錄於《清瓷萃珍：清代康雍乾官窰瓷器》，香港中文大學文物館，香港，1995年，編號52；倫敦大英博物館收藏一盌，載於 R.L. Hobson，《The Later Ceramic Wares of China》，倫敦，1925年，圖版LV，圖1。
