the deep rounded sides rising from a straight foot, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze, the interior suffused with extensive short russet flecking and five russet splashes, the glaze stopping irregularly above the foot to reveal the buff-colored stoneware body

There is a tiny frit to the rim; otherwise, the bowl is in overall good condition with some expected wear to the glaze and foot ring. Some minor firing imperfections, including a small glaze gap to the exterior. Old ink markings to the underside. The surface has been cleaned and polished.
