拍品資料及來源

A jade figure of a bird with outstretched wings and head turned towards its back, was included in the Oriental Ceramic Society exhibition Chinese Jades from Han to Ch’ing, Asia House Gallery, New York, 1980, cat. no. 81.

Jade birds depicted as if flying with outstretched wings can be traced back to the Han dynasty, where they were commonly used as finials. Compare for example a bird included in the exhibition Chinese Jade Animals, Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong, 1996, lot 54.
