白玉壓尺纖薄通透，玉質淨潔，光素無紋，僅琢御題詩句填金，文雅絕致。玉尺巧薄易損，現存完整者極罕。Von Oertzen 男爵伉儷珍藏二件纖長玉版，綴山水人物，鑲木邊框，刊載於 S. Howard Hansford，《Jade. Essence of Hills and Streams》，倫敦，1969年，圖版D49，售於倫敦佳士得2008年11月4日，編號132。比較 Gerald Godfrey 收藏一件長方白玉壓尺，略小但較厚，售於香港佳士得1995年10月30日，編號839。

御題詠秋唐詩，反映乾隆晚期五經與唐詩之興盛。乾隆二十一年（1756年），此類五言八韻詩再次成為官方採用詩體，翌年（1757年）起，會試均須使用此體，鄉試則於二十四年（1759年）始用。因此，於十年之間，唐宋詩詞研究大增，唐詩且更得漢學者青睞。
