robustly potted with a baluster body divided into six lobes, rising from a splayed foot to a waisted cylindrical neck, sweeping up to a wide everted rim with a rolled lip, painted in deep cobalt-blue tones in the ‘heaped and piled’ effect, each lobe boldly painted with a lingzhi spray with radiating trefoil leaves between lappet bands, the neck similarly decorated with three joined circles, all divided by vertical line borders at the ribs, the out-turned rim and the foot encircled by broad pendent lappets, inscribed to the glazed recessed base with a six-character reign mark within a double circle, the footring unglazed

Good condition, with just minor firing irregularities as expected, including two areas of glaze pull on the underside of the everted mouthrim.

青花寶瓶

此石榴尊器型極為少見,通體呈六瓣瓜棱形,折沿口向下延伸,所飾紋樣亦甚獨特,瓶頸繪三聯寶珠,瓶腹開光內飾折枝靈芝,口沿、肩部及下腹繪變形仰覆蓮瓣,內括花卉紋。此器型謂「石榴尊」,或因其口與石榴萼冠相近,此形似於永樂一朝創燒,多未落款識,較少者落宣德年款。此種器型,或源自早期金屬器,以不同材質製作均難得一見,可比四川彭州金銀器窖藏中一銀瓜式瓶,現藏彭州博物館,錄《宋韻:四川窖藏文物輯粹》,北京,2006年,頁198(圖一)。然此銀瓶,無獨特之折沿口及外撇足。

永樂一朝,始見景德鎮燒製與本品形制相似器例,同為折沿口、外撇足,頸部飾蓮瓣紋、三聯寶珠紋,然其瓶身所飾花卉,非本品之折枝靈芝,常為佛教題材,其垂掛飄帶,頂飾三重火焰寶華,展現藏傳佛教八寶祥瑞之「寶瓶」形象。「寶瓶」象徵無盡財富,寓意福智圓滿。此類寶瓶紋樣亦見諸明永樂戧金漆經板;所繪紋飾細節可比抱一齋藏例,售於香港蘇富比2014年4月8日,編號38(圖二)。

宣德以降,此造型瓷器未見延燒,然見諸較晚掐絲琺瑯作品,部分琺瑯器或嵌寶珠;見一幅天啟皇帝宮廷畫像,其左側繪一此型掐絲琺瑯例,此畫展出並錄於《Power and Glory: Court Arts of China’s Ming Dynasty》,亞洲藝術博物館,三藩市,2008年,頁262,編號149。

相若青花器,落宣德年款,僅二三例可循,其一屬清宮舊藏,現存北京故宮博物院,錄耿寶昌編《故宮博物院藏明初青花瓷》,北京,2002年,卷1,圖版100;其二藏北京國家博物館,刊《中國國家博物館館藏文物研究叢書:瓷器卷•明代》,上海,2007年,圖版33;或存第三例,圖見馮先銘著《Yongle and Xuande Blue-and-White Porcelain in the Palace Museum》,載於《Orientations》1987年11月,頁63,圖16。

一無款類例,藏於台北國立故宮博物院,展並錄於《明代宣德官窰菁華特展圖錄》,台北,1998年,編號13。另見一無款例,售於香港蘇富比2000年10月30日,編號101,載朱湯生著《中國瓷器·莊少綏收藏》,香港,2009年,圖版8;依其所見,有款者之器型較無款者有所變化,無款者口緣下彎弧度稍大,頸微短,內底素胎呈弧狀;而落款者口緣下彎弧度稍小,頸略長,內底施釉且呈階梯狀。

可比一例,出土於北京,現存北京首都博物館,刊《首都博物館藏瓷選》,北京,1991年,圖版103。又見兩相似例,皆無款,為吳賚熙雅藏,售於倫敦蘇富比1937年5月26日,編號31及32;前一例,後入 Major L.F. Hay 收藏,二度售於倫敦蘇富比1939年6月16日,編號106;再後,二例其一為大衛德爵士手藏,現存倫敦大英博物館,其與本品同錄 Margaret Medley 著<Regrouping 15th Century Blue and White>,《Transactions of the Oriental Ceramic Society》,卷34,1962-63年,圖版9;亦比一例,屬 H.R.N. Norton 典藏,售於倫敦蘇富比1963年11月5日,編號163,曾展並錄於《Mostra d’Arte Cinese》,總督府,威尼斯,1954年,編號630。

本品出於 Derek G. Ide(卒於1979年)收藏,其藏幾與琵金頓屬同一時期,且均源自同一玻璃製造家族。
