The bowls are in exceptionally good condition. The rich ruby-red colour in the catalogue photo is accurate.

此對盃繪多種果實於盃心，細膩入微，極為難得，雖看似簡單，實需謹慎考究，於拉胚，燒製及施釉等各環節均需極高技藝與精準性，以保成品完美無瑕。此類果實紋盃見於康熙末至雍正初期，因新引入粉、紫二色，而歸入最早期之粉彩瓷列。此新得顏料之美，除見於盃心紋飾，更於外壁胭脂紅色顯露無疑。

同類對盃，另僅兩雙，其一錄於朱湯生，《中國瓷器莊紹綏收藏》，香港，2009年，圖版94，另一對售於香港蘇富比1976年11月29日，編號614。亦可比一缽形盌例，內繪相類紋飾，外壁施淡粉紅色彩，載於康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》，卷2，倫敦，1994年，圖版957。

此盃之雛形，見一康熙款例，為 Gerald M. Greenwald 舊藏，售於香港蘇富比1988年11月16日，編號366，及香港佳士得2010年12月1日，編號2813。另有一對，為 Paul and Helen Bernat 伉儷收藏，售於香港蘇富比1988年11月15日，編號49，後又售於香港佳士得2007年11月27日，編號1759。亦見一盃例，屬 Riesco 典藏，見於《Riesco Collection of Chinese Ceramics Handlist》，克羅伊登，1987年，圖版159。

此盃所繪果實紋，欲使人聯想經乾果香料等浸泡而成之果茶，清香撲鼻，同時，也象徵子孫滿堂。此類瓜果亦見於拜堂成親時捧奉給父母之茶中，或撒落於新婚床褥之下，由此可推，此類盃或屬婚禮訂燒。
