The censer and cover are in good condition. As expected of a piece of its size and age, there are minor nicks and tiny bruises to the edges, including the rims, as well as other fragile extremities, such as the dragon's beard and the mouths of the mythical beast masks on the cover. There are also small areas of pitting. The catalogue illustration is slightly more of a greyish tone than the actual colour of the stone.
