罕有手繪彩色道教經書，奉明朝皇后之命繪製。「此裝飾手抄本《本命真經》與另外四本著於宋朝的道教經書合稱《五斗經》；據傳老子在東漢時期向道家始創天師張道陵降授此經。直至現代，該經一直是中國流傳最廣的宗教典籍之一。道教信徒大多相信，北斗星宮主生死，人出生之年月日時決定其本命星君。本經教導信眾念誦祈禱、叩拜供養本命星君，以求增福延壽，驅厄渡難。底頁注明本經乃奉皇后之名繪製，時為明嘉靖二十二年七月初廿八，即1543年8月28日」（《All Under Heaven》）。
