The jade carving is in very good overall condition and finished to a smooth polish.

清帝皆好古，尚古玉而多有仿之。為觽者，初解繩結之器，後漸作珮飾。子事父母，左右珮觽，意解煩結，從孝當先，可得家室興和。參考一相類東周作例，藏倫敦大英博物館，錄Jassica Rawson，《Chinese Jades》，倫敦，1995年，圖版17:11。
