each exquisitely potted with elegant rounded sides raised on a tall slightly tapered foot encircled by a classic scroll band, decorated around the exterior in bright translucent enamels with a continuous frieze of a single undulating knotty stem bearing pairs of multicolour peaches, as well as budding and blooming flowers, amidst numerous slender pale green leaves, all below a border of repeated wan symbols in cobalt-blue at the rim, the interior similarly decorated with a central medallion of a yellow wan symbol surrounded by three further peaches borne on a ring of flowering and leafy stem, the countersunk base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark in regular script within a double circle

本品優雅曼美，紋樣別緻，所飾花果紋，宛若花環，圍抱盌身。其用色豐富，著釉入微，凸顯構圖之妙。藉由礬紅點彩技法，表現桃實成熟，而花朵，或含苞待放，或芬芳吐艷，盛開者，花瓣尖端著重渲染。盌口另繪卍字紋一周，新穎獨特，更添祥瑞。

此對盌，滿富吉慶圖案，或為恭賀康熙帝六十壽誕（1713年）所特製。其中，桃紋，寓意長壽，遂成主題紋飾，不禁使人遙想西王母瑤池蟠桃。盌身四組桃實，兩兩成對，綴於陽春碧葉間，桃枝可趨兇避邪，八桃則為吉利之數。

類例見於北京故宮博物院收藏，錄於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集‧五彩‧鬪彩》，香港，1999年，圖版202，書中談及其美感源於將自然與抽象元素相融合，所繪花果足可證見，其整體勻朗，以虛托實，別樹一格。另見此類對例，載於 Helen D. Ling 及仇焱之，《抗希齋珍藏歷代名瓷影譜》，卷2，香港，1950年，圖版104；另有一盌，屬 Avery Brundage雅藏，刊於 Therese Tse Bartholomew，《Hidden Meanings in Chinese Art》，舊金山， 2006年，頁226，其著者指出，「卍」字，與桃花、桃實相合，象徵「萬壽無疆」。遂「萬壽」一詞僅為帝后可用，此圖實欲表達「願皇帝萬福長生」之美許。

另比一雍正盌例，口足各繪一周穿花蝠紋，足上畫蓮瓣，屬 Dr Robert Barron 及玫茵堂遞藏，載於康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》，卷4，倫敦，2010年，編號1746。

儘管此盌設計並非緊承成化樣式，然就其所施鬪彩工藝及畫法，仍可窺成化遺風，如其枝葉處理，及以黃色和礬紅彩繪果實之法，可比一件景德鎮珠山明御廠遺址出土成化盌例，錄於《成窰遺珍：景德鎮珠山出土成化官窰瓷器》，徐氏藝術館，香港，1993年，編號C115。此類串枝花果紋帶同見於成化高足盃，繪對鳥棲於兩蘋果樹上，比較一例，藏於台北國立故宮博物院，刊於《成化瓷器特展圖錄》，國立故宮博物院，台北，2003年，編號170。
