十七世紀 鎏金銅觀音坐像

The figure is in good condition with the exception of loss to the flower held in the right hand, nibbles to the edge of the cup held in the left hand and light rubbing and scratches to the gilded decoration. The base has been opened.

據妙法蓮華經記載，觀音法力無邊，化身千萬普渡眾生，本品為楊柳觀音，左手持一盌甘露解凡間危疾苦難，右手持柳枝灑甘露驅逐邪妖。

一件尺寸較大之作例，圖錄於韓永， 《北京文物精粹大系：佛造像卷 》，上卷 ，北京，2001，圖版39；另一例售於紐約佳士得1994年12月1日，編號340。三件同例觀音頭戴寶冠，錄於《夏景春藏金铜佛像 》，瀋陽，2000年，圖版170、171、172。另一例為坐蓮觀音，曾展於《法象威儀 - 彭楷棟先生捐贈文物特展 》，國立故宮博物院，台北，2004，圖版167；亦有一例售於紐約蘇富比1992年12月1日，編號196。
