Contemporary Art Day Auction

This November, Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Day Auction is pleased to be offering a spectacular group of works from the post-war period to today. The morning session includes pieces by the most influential artistic voices of the twentieth century, including Alexander Calder, Morris Louis, Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell and Wayne Thiebaud. The afternoon session showcases examples by the current masters of contemporary painting, photography, and sculpture, including works by Ai Weiwei, Elizabeth Peyton, Gerhard Richter, Amy Sillman, Marlene Dumas and Takashi Murakami. In the Afternoon session, we are honored to be presenting works from the esteemed collection of Marc Jacobs, whose unparalleled creative vision is reflected in his incredible collection. The sale also features an exemplary assortment of Latin American post-war and contemporary artists, ranging from Jesús Rafael Soto to Fernando Botero.
