On 5 December Sotheby’s Zurich will proudly present its biannual Swiss Art / Swiss Made auction. The sale will feature a selection of paintings, works on paper, sculpture, prints and design from renowned Swiss artists ranging from the 19th century through to the present day. It will showcase a wonderful blend of traditional and modern Swiss artworks and artists while celebrating a diverse range of techniques and approaches.
Highlights include works from the modern classical period by Cuno Amiet, Augusto and Giovanni Giacometti and other key artists from the Swiss Avant-Garde at the start of the 20th century. Leading the sale is a rare and important masterpiece: Ernst Ludwig Kirchners’s Schneeberge mit Skiläufern, depicting a winter landscape in Davos.
Swiss Art / Swiss Made aims to highlight classical Swiss works and to explore new avenues to showcase the wonderfully varied facets of Swiss Art including emerging talents of today.
