Sotheby's 18 April 2015 Private Collections sale brought a strong total of $5,220,814, well within pre-sale estimates. An important set of twelve George III mahogany dining chairs circa 1760 led the sale with a total price of $322,000, just over four times the high estimate. Also performing well, A George I parcel-gilt scarlet-japanned desk and bookcase sold for $137,000.
