Sotheby's Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale on 5 November 2014 features a dazzling array of paintings, drawings and sculptures from important estates and esteemed private collections. We are proud to offer an extraordinary variety of portraits, landscapes, and still life compositions by the hand of Pierre-Auguste Renoir, as well as a spectacular selection of works that exemplify the genius of Pablo Picasso and Marc Chagall. Other highlights include a superb selection of Cubist oils by such artists as Georges Valmier and Henri Hayden, not to mention a group of major oils by Fauve painter Kees van Dongen, outstanding modern sculpture by Henry Moore, Jean Arp and Jacques Lipchitz, Alfred Sisley’s oil of a sparkling path leading the viewer into sun-dappled trees, and a monumental masterpiece of Parisian nightlife by a rarely seen star of the 1890s, Louis Anquetin.
