The sale opens with a magnificent private collection of Châteaux Haut Brion and La Mission Haut Brion, recently removed from an aristocratic cellar. Exceptionally, the Châteaux agreed to recondition every bottle and provide original wooden cases in light of their prestigious provenance. Star lots include three cases of Haut Brion 1989 (£9,000 - 11,000 per 12 bottles) and four cases of La Mission Haut Brion 1989 (£6,000 - 7,000 per 12 bottles).
Another private collection features Bordeaux First Growths, Super Seconds and other Classed Growths, Burgundy Grands Crus, Premiers Crus and village wines, top Rhône and Vintage Champagne, all professionally stored since purchase.
Further highlights include two 6-bottle cases of Montrachet, 1993, Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, with an estimate of £15,000 - 18,000 each.
