Jane Oakley joined Sotheby’s in 2013 after working in the auction world for over fifteen years. She has extensive experience in a variety of different departments at Phillips, Bonham’s and Christie’s as a specialist and auctioneer, spanning early British & Old Master paintings to contemporary Scottish paintings. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and a love for British art.
She was previously Head of the Victorian, Sporting and Maritime departments at Christie’s, South Kensington, also running the Scottish sales and was instrumental in the sale of the Hunter Blair colourist collection. Other sales include the highly successful Peter Langan and Lehman Brothers collections. Ms Oakley has a degree in History of Art from Leeds University.
