Helen Papoulias is the sale director for the two American art sales each year produced by the Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture department. She is responsible for obtaining and evaluating property for sale, as well as for supervising all aspects of the auction process--cataloguing, research, condition assessment, catalogue production and client outreach. She joined Sotheby’s in 1992 as a specialist in the Sotheby’s Arcade where she catalogued Old Master Paintings, 19th Century European Art, Impressionist and Modern Art, in addition to American art, which has remained her lifelong interest.
