Описание в каталоге

A pair of illustrations originally published on pages 64-65 of the fourth and final Winnie-the-Pooh book (Methuen, 1928). The illustrations are from chapter four ('In which it is shown that Tiggers don't climb trees'). It is RARE TO FIND CORRESPONDING PAIRS OR OTHER GROUPS OF WINNIE-THE-POOH ILLUSTRATIONS TOGETHER.

Of the 105 illustrations within the text of The House at Pooh Corner, the only book in the series to include Tigger, the character appears in a mere 18. The second drawing is therefore ONE OF ONLY 18 ORIGINAL DRAWINGS OF TIGGER FOR THE ORIGINAL BOOK.

The first illustration includes the caption in Shepard's hand below the mount. The caption for the second illustration is preserved on the back of the frame. As usual both are signed in ink with the artist's address on the reverse of the artist's board.
