Shepard, E.H.
"AND THEY ALL PULLED TOGETHER"

Описание в каталоге

Reproduced as a double-page illustration on pages 30-31 of Winnie-the-Pooh (Methuen, 1926). This illustration is from the second chapter of the book entitled 'In which Pooh goes visiting and gets into a tight place'. Below the mount Shepard provides the title "W.T.P. goes visiting" together with "and they all pulled together". There is also an erased note stating "cut down centre" and a faint pencil line on the drawing showing the proposed division. The illustration, as published, shows an awkward division with the animals on page 31 separated from the fourth rabbit.

It is believed that this piece was item 25 in the sale of Winnie-the-Pooh drawings held at The Sporting Gallery in 1926. The exhibition catalogue provides the title of "Ow!" THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THE DRAWING HAS BEEN OFFERED FOR SALE IN JUST UNDER NINETY YEARS.
