The highlight of the sale is the Rare and Important Icon of the Feodorovskaya Mother of God, presented to Emperor Nicholas II by the government of Kostroma on the occasion of his wedding in 1894. The Fabergé section includes silver and objects of vertu, many with Imperial provenance, most notably the jewelled Imperial Presentation box from a private European family collection. Several significant porcelain lots are featured, including an early pair of monumental vases by the Imperial Porcelain Factory and a rare Soviet porcelain pot for kumys made for the Mongolian People’s Republic by the Lomonosov State Porcelain Factory.
