Our first Now ! salewas a great success achieving a total of €1.2 million. The most coveted lot of the auction wasthe Franz West’s 2003 Kompliment ottoman, which sold for €135,000 (estimate: €50,000-70,000). This summer sale attracted many art and design lovers thanks to the original and accurately priced pieces it featured. A collector bought a vase by Besnard for €2,125, a Pierre Bonnard landscape of the Seine for €4,375, and a sculpture of a standing man by Cesar for €8,125.
On 1 July, Sotheby’s welcomes collectors of 20th and 21st century art to the first edition of the NOW! sales. From the 1930s to the present day, this sale combines Contemporary Art and Design, Photography and Modern Art.
