Presented for the first time as two collecting categories, Latin American Art achieved a strong combined sales total of $21.1 million.
The Contemporary Art auction totalled $7,743,750, within its estimate of $7.1 - $10 million. Joaquín Torres-García's boldly graphic and geometric Arte Constructivo Con Sol Y Estrella led the sale at $802,000, exceeding its high estimate of $700,000. Alejandro Otero's Coloritmo 57 followed close behind, selling for $790,000, also well above its high estimate.
