Sotheby's New York Contemporary Art totaled $472,486,775 with strong results in both our Evening and Day auctions. Seven artist records were set in the Evening sale, including Christopher Wool, Sigmar Polke and Mark Grotjahn. Highlights also included Mark Rothko's Untitled (Yellow and Blue) from 1954 which sold for $46.5 million and Roy Lichtenstein's The Ring (Engagement) selling for $41.7 million.
