Helen Papoulias joined Sotheby’s in 1992 and is a general Paintings Specialist covering a broad range of Western art—Old Masters, 19th Century European Paintings, Impressionist Art, Modern and Contemporary Art and American Paintings. Her role involves the appraisal, research, condition assessment and cataloguing of works featured in Sotheby’s sales. Her particular focus is on American Paintings and she was the Specialist-in-charge of this area for Sothebys.com.
Ms Papoulias began her career in the auction world in the American Paintings department at Christie’s, where she worked for three years.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University.
