This October, the exquisite Collection of Mrs. Douglas Auchincloss, is coming to Sotheby’s. The 70-plus lots of furniture, ceramics and silver, most of which will be offerered without reserve, hail from Mrs. Auchincloss’s Long Island residence, which was transplanted from the village of Les Petits Thons in the Vosges area of France to Upper Brookville, Long Island in 1927 by Ashbel H.
