As part of Sotheby’s Decorative Arts Week this spring, we are delighted to offer a large and varied selection of furniture and decorative art in the Collections: European Decorative Arts sale on April 13th and 14th in New York. The opening session on Wednesday afternoon will be exclusively dedicated to the renowned Manhattan-based dealer, H.M. Luther, who has held a place of prominence in the art and antique market since 1947. The core aesthetic of H.M. Luther has always been characterized by Neoclassicism subtly punctuated by the inclusion of objects of various styles and geographies, and this style will be showcased through the curated selection of pieces to be offered.
On Thursday, Collections will also be highlighted by a fine collection of 19th century furniture and decorative arts from a private Beverly Hills collection. The sale will also feature other select groups of private property of European, English and 19th century furniture.
