The sale of Château Palmer on 4 June in Hong Kong was 100% sold, bringing HK$15.1 million/ US$1.9 million, double the estimate. A barrel of Château Palmer 2015 sold for HK$3.06 million/ US$390,000, six times over the estimate.

The sale, titledChâteau Palmer Direct from the Château and the Cellars of Maison Mähler-Besse & Franck Mähler-Besse, will be held on 4 June 2016 at Sotheby’s Hong Kong Gallery. This is the first time a significant collection of wines direct from the Château Palmer cellars will be offered at auction. Immensely popular with connoisseurs in every country, Palmer’s scent, combined with its succulence and generosity, ensure delicious drinkability at all stages of its life. The sale comprises over 220 lots spanning 87 years (1928-2015) estimated at HK$7.7 – 12.4 million / US$980,000 – 1.6 million.
